Heather Morris
Heather Morris is a screenwriter and historical fiction novelist, originally a native of New Zealand, she now resides in Australia. For several years while working in a large public hospital in Melbourne, she studied and wrote screenplays, one of which was optioned by an academy award-winning Screenwriter in the U.S. In 2003, Morris was introduced to an elderly gentleman Lale Sokolov, who entrusted Morris with the innermost details of his life as a Holocaust survivor. Heather originally wrote Lale's story as a screenplay - which ranked high in international competitions - before reshaping it into my debut novel, The Tattooist of Auschwitz, the novel recounts the horrific atrocities and barbarism Lale witnessed during the Holocaust, as well as incredible acts of bravery and compassion.
